JETS validates the conformance of Java and Java-like compilers, translators, and virtual machines per the conformance requirements contained in the Java Language Specification and other updates made to the language as documented by Sun Microsystems in publicly available specifications. 

JETS is developed in a 'clean-room' environment, and is not aimed at any specific Java, or Java-like implementation,. It provides a thorough, objective, and unbiased means to conduct conformity assessment of Java or Java-like implementations to industry standards.

JETS also enables compiler developers to generate byte code that can then be move to other platforms and tested for portability and functionality.
